Breaking News... Civil servant and retiree salary increases determined: TURKSTAT announced inflation rate

The news that millions of retirees and civil servants have been waiting for has arrived. According to the data announced by TURKSTAT, June inflation was reported as 1.37 percent monthly and 35.05 percent annually.

INCREASE RATE DETERMINED

Thus, the raise that SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive in July has become 16.68 percent. The raise rate for civil servants has become 15.58 percent.

2-FOLD DIFFERENCE WITH ENAG

The Inflation Research Group (ENAG), consisting of independent academics, has published inflation data for June 2025. According to ENAG, the Consumer Price Index (E-CPI) increased by 3.05 percent in June compared to the previous month. Annual inflation was calculated at 68.68 percent.

According to the announced data, the new raises provided to teachers, civil servants, research assistants, engineers, and nurses are as follows:

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER IŞIKHAN REGARDING THE LOWEST RETIREE PENSION

It has been stated that Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan will work on a solution for retirees whose pensions will remain below the lowest salary of 14,469 liras despite the raise, due to their base salaries being low. The expectation is that the lowest retiree pension will also be increased by the announced inflation rate.

Upon a journalist's question regarding whether the lowest retiree pension figure would be increased, Işıkhan stated the following:

"When the June inflation figure is determined on July 3, the CPI realized in the first 6 months of the year will emerge. We will hold the necessary meetings under the chairmanship of our Minister of Treasury and Finance and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Then, the figure regarding the issue will be submitted to the Parliament in a very short time. The discretion belongs to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Our Group Chairman Mr. Abdullah Güler has also made the necessary statements regarding the issue. Hopefully, it will be beneficial for our retirees."
