Approval granted by BRSA, new bank established
Fuzul Katılım Bankası, established under the leadership of Fuzul Holding, has entered banking operations with a capital of 13.2 billion lira following approval from the BRSA.
The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) has authorized the entry of a new participation bank into the financial sector in Turkey with its decision published today. Fuzul Katılım Bankası A.Ş., brought to life under the leadership of the Fuzul Group, is entering the sector with significant capital.
The founding partners include Fuzul Holding A.Ş., Fuzul Yapı Gayrimenkul ve İnşaat A.Ş., as well as Mahmut Akbal, Eyüp Akbal, and Zeki Akbal. This new bank has been designed to provide services in accordance with the principles of participation banking.
Following examinations, it was determined that the bank had fulfilled all necessary conditions for establishment, and with the approval granted at the BRSA meeting on March 12, 2026, the process for an operating license has also begun. The participation bank received positive results from evaluations conducted under the seventh and eighth articles of the Banking Law.
Fuzul Katılım Bankası, rising through the partnership of companies within the Fuzul Group, has a high founding capital totaling 13 billion 200 million lira. This capital is interpreted as a sign that the bank will begin with a strong competitive advantage in the sector.
In addition to Mahmut Akbal, Eyüp Akbal, and Zeki Akbal, who are named among the founding shareholders, the inclusion of group-affiliated companies in the partnership structure also drew attention. The new bank is expected to complete its operating license process and begin services in a short time.
