BRSA makes adjustments to personal loans

The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) has increased the usage limit for personal loans with a maturity of up to 36 months, which was previously 50 thousand liras, to 125 thousand liras.

The BRSA has decided to change the general maturity limit for consumer loans. According to the decision, changes were made to the limits for personal loans with maturities of up to 12, 24, and 36 months.

According to the statement made by the BRSA, the limit for personal loans with a maturity of up to 36 months has been increased from 50 thousand liras to 125 thousand liras.

While loans under 50 thousand and 100 thousand liras were previously provided for maturities of up to 24 months, this range has been increased to between 125 thousand and 250 thousand liras.

With the new decision, the limit for personal loans with a maturity of up to 12 months has been raised from 100 thousand liras to 250 thousand liras.

In the statement, it was said, "Within the framework of macroprudential steps taken to ensure financial stability, with the BRSA's decision dated February 13 and numbered 11152; the monetary amounts regarding the general maturity limitation for consumer loans determined within the scope of the Board's decision dated June 9, 2022, and numbered 10222, have been updated as follows, taking into account macroeconomic data."

The last change regarding loan limits was made on June 9, 2022.
