Budget sessions begin in the Turkish Parliament: To last 14 days

Budget deliberations, which will begin tomorrow in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, will last for 14 days according to the established schedule. The General Assembly will meet without interruption, including Saturdays and Sundays, and will work until it completes its daily agenda.

On the first day of the deliberations, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş will preside over the General Assembly.

The deliberations on the budget as a whole will take place tomorrow. In the sessions starting at 12:00 in the General Assembly, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will speak on behalf of the government, followed by Group Deputy Chair Bülent Kaya and Istanbul MP Selim Temurci on behalf of the Saadet Party group, Group Chair Koray Aydın and Izmir MP Ümit Özlale from the IYI Party, MHP Group Deputy Chairs Erkan Akçay and Muhammed Levent Bülbül, HEDEP Co-Chairs Tülay Hatımoğulları Oruç and Tuncer Bakırhan, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, and AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala and Group Chair Abdullah Güler. Additionally, Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan and DBP Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar will make speeches in their personal capacity.

Negotiations on the budgets and final accounts of public administrations will be handled in 10 rounds. The speaking time for groups and the government in these rounds will be 60 minutes each.

Monday, December 11: Deliberations on the budget as a whole will be held.

Tuesday, December 12: Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Constitutional Court, Court of Cassation, Council of State, Court of Accounts, Ombudsman Institution, General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses, Justice Academy of Turkey, Council of Judges and Prosecutors, Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey, Personal Data Protection Authority, Directorate for EU Affairs, Turkish Accreditation Agency.

Saturday, December 23: Deliberations will be held up to the 16th article of the 2024 Central Government Budget Law Proposal, and the articles of the 2022 Central Government Final Account Law Proposal will be discussed.

Sunday, December 24: Deliberations on the 2024 Central Government Budget Law Proposal will be completed. Along with this proposal, the 2022 Central Government Final Account Law Proposal will be put to an open vote.
