It was reported that administrative fines totaling 9 million 374 thousand 941 lira have been imposed on businesses selling bread above the price tariff determined by the Ministry of Trade.

According to the written statement issued by the Ministry, inspections were carried out across the country targeting the businesses in question.

The irregularities identified as a result of the inspections were discussed at the meeting of the Unfair Price Evaluation Board, and it was decided to impose administrative fines totaling 9 million 374 thousand 941 lira on 283 businesses found to be selling bread above the determined price tariff.

At the meeting, it was also decided to impose administrative fines of 8 million 282 thousand 225 lira on 24 wholesale market traders who engaged in exorbitant price increases for fruit and vegetable sales, and 6 million 687 thousand 900 lira on 2 businesses involved in stockpiling in the automotive market.

Thus, the Board imposed a total of 24 million 345 thousand 66 lira in administrative fines on 309 businesses found to have engaged in exorbitant price increases and stockpiling.

The statement noted that the Ministry will continue to implement the necessary administrative measures against those who carry out such actions.
