Central Bank announced: Inflation expectations have declined
According to the latest survey by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB), inflation expectations for the real sector and households declined in October.
Despite the effects of inflation, which continue with constantly changing price tags in markets and bazaars, the erosion of the minimum wage each passing month, and the loss of value of the currency, the Central Bank has reported that inflation expectations have declined.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) has published its "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" for October 2024.
According to the data, 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectations in October decreased by 0.1 points to 27.4 percent for market participants, by 1.6 points to 49.5 percent for the real sector, and by 4.4 points to 67.2 percent for households.
INFLATION EXPECTATIONS FOR THE 12-MONTH PERIOD
The proportion of households expecting inflation to fall in the next 12-month period decreased by 0.7 points compared to the previous month, reaching 28.3 percent.
On the other hand, according to the Central Bank's statement, the data for Sectoral Inflation Expectations were obtained by compiling the 12-month-ahead annual consumer inflation expectations of finance and real sector experts, manufacturing industry firms, and households through the Market Participants Survey, the Business Tendency Survey, and the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).
