Central Bank announces household year-end inflation expectations

The CBRT announced that 12-month ahead annual inflation expectations have declined. In November, 12-month ahead annual inflation expectations fell to 27.2 percent for market participants, 47.8 percent for the real sector, and 64.1 percent for households.

Central Bank announces household year-end inflation expectations

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) reported that 12-month ahead annual inflation expectations for market participants, the real sector, and households declined in November.

The CBRT published the "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" for November 2024.

Sectoral Inflation Expectations were derived by compiling the 12-month ahead annual consumer inflation expectations of finance and real sector professionals, manufacturing firms, and households, through the Market Participants Survey, the Business Tendency Survey, and the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

HOUSEHOLD INFLATION EXPECTATION AT 64.1 PERCENT

Accordingly, in November, 12-month ahead annual inflation expectations decreased by 0.2 points to 27.2 percent for market participants, fell by 1.7 points to 47.8 percent for the real sector, and declined by 3.1 points to 64.1 percent for households.

The proportion of households expecting inflation to fall in the next 12 months decreased by 2 points compared to the previous month, reaching 26.3 percent.
