Central Bank's inflation survey released

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) has announced the results of its "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" survey for June 2025. The survey includes the annual inflation forecasts of market participants, real sector representatives, and households for the next 12 months.

According to the survey results, there was a general decline in inflation expectations compared to May.

The annual inflation forecast for 12 months ahead by participants, consisting of financial market professionals and institutional representatives, was determined to be 24.6 percent, a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from the previous month.

This indicated that the impact of the tight monetary policies of 2024 has begun to be felt gradually in the market.

REAL SECTOR'S INFLATION EXPECTATION

The annual inflation expectation of the real sector representatives participating in the survey, meaning those involved in production, industry, and trade, fell by 1.2 percentage points to 39.8 percent.

This rate was recorded as the lowest level seen since February 2022. This optimistic picture on the real sector side points to a perception of partial relief, especially in cost pressures.

DECLINE IN PUBLIC INFLATION EXPECTATION

The most striking data from the survey came from households. The public's annual inflation forecast for 12 months ahead fell by 6.9 percentage points compared to the previous month, dropping to the 53.0 percent level.
