Annual inflation expectations rose in April for market participants and the real sector, while they remained unchanged for households.

HAVE INFLATION EXPECTATIONS INCREASED?

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) has published the "Sectoral Inflation Expectations" for April 2025.

Accordingly, in April, the 12-month-ahead annual inflation expectations increased by 1.0 percentage point to 25.6 percent for market participants and by 0.6 percentage points to 41.7 percent for the real sector, while they remained stable at 59.3 percent for households.

The proportion of households expecting inflation to fall in the next 12 months decreased by 4.1 percentage points compared to the previous month, reaching 27.2 percent.

WHAT WAS THE MARCH INFLATION?

The Turkish Statistical Institute announced the March inflation data at the beginning of April. Inflation was 2.46 percent on a monthly basis in March, while it declined to 38.1 percent on an annual basis.
