Central Bank's inflation forecast changes pension hike: New rates emerge

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey has revised its year-end inflation forecast to 26 percent. Following this update, pension increases to be implemented in July have been calculated with new rates. According to the calculations, an increase of 19.85 percent is projected for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees' pensions in July, while an increase of approximately 15.5 percent is projected for civil servants and civil servant retirees.

However, economists are approaching this Central Bank inflation projection with caution. According to many experts, inflation is expected to reach around 30 percent by the end of the year. If this forecast by economists materializes, the hike rate for SSK and BAĞ-KUR retirees could rise to 22.21 percent, and the increase for civil servants and civil servant retirees could reach 17.8 percent.

The rates for pension increases will become clear based on the course of inflation in the second half of the year.
