Central Bank's total reserves decline

Central Bank's total reserves decline

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) total reserves decreased by 5 billion 569 million dollars in the week of May 1 compared to the previous week, falling to the level of 165 billion 483 million dollars.

The CBRT published its weekly money and banking statistics. According to the data, the Central Bank's gross foreign currency reserves fell by 4 billion 351 million dollars as of May 1, reaching 56 billion 600 million dollars. These reserves stood at 60 billion 951 million dollars in the week of April 24.

A decline was also experienced in gold reserves. Accordingly, gold reserves decreased by 1 billion 218 million dollars, falling from 110 billion 101 million dollars to 108 billion 883 million dollars.

Thus, the CBRT's total reserves dropped from 171 billion 52 million dollars to 165 billion 483 million dollars in one week.
