CHP MP Sarıgül announces: "Tax upon tax has been rained down on games of chance"
CHP Erzincan MP Mustafa Sarıgül drew attention to the tax burden on games of chance. Sarıgül stated, "Exchange rate differences in the Dollar and Euro have been considered, but tax upon tax has been rained down on the games of chance that citizens pin their hopes on."
CHP MP Mustafa Sarıgül made an assessment regarding the 2024 budget, which will be discussed in Parliament this week.
Drawing attention to the Osmangazi Bridge, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, and highway connections, Sarıgül said, "The budget allocated to these projects in 2024 is 74 billion TL. In 2022, it was 36 billion. That is an increase of over 100 percent. Unfortunately, the projected amounts are not being met either. The rising exchange rate differences in the Dollar and Euro are like a black hole, and the bills are being passed on to the citizens, including through supplementary budgets."
DREW ATTENTION TO THE TAX BURDEN
Stating that a 109 percent increase has been imposed on taxes for games of chance, Sarıgül said, "Tax revenue, which was 1 billion 800 million TL in 2020, is projected to be 54 billion in 2024. We expect this generosity to be applied at the same rate for retirees who are practically condemned to hunger," he stated.
Sarıgül also added, "Exchange rate differences in the Dollar and Euro have been considered, but tax upon tax has been rained down on the games of chance that citizens pin their hopes on."
