Companies that make unauthorized marketing and sales calls regarding electronic communication services, known in the public as "spam calls," will now have to be more careful.
The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has issued a wave of fines for calls that victimize citizens. The administrative process, which has been ongoing for some time regarding unauthorized calls made for the sale and marketing of internet access services by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority, has been completed.
The Information and Communication Technologies Authority, which comprehensively examined the compliance of operators with sub-dealership/agency regulations regarding sales and marketing calls known in the public as "spam calls" that disturb citizens, has issued fines to 15 operators found to have practices contrary to the legislation.
With the decision taken by the Information and Communication Technologies Board, a total of approximately 51.5 million TL in administrative fines of varying amounts were imposed on firms that contacted citizens through unauthorized calls.
