According to the results of the Consumer Tendency Survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the consumer confidence index recorded a decline in December. The index, which stood at 85.0 in November, decreased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 83.5 in December.
The decline in the consumer confidence index indicates that households maintain a cautious outlook regarding the current economic situation and expectations for the coming period.
While an index value below 100 indicates that consumer confidence is below the threshold of optimism, a value above 100 signifies that it is above the threshold of optimism.
The index for the current financial situation of households fell by 2.4 percent, dropping from 69.6 to 67.9.
The index for the expected financial situation of households over the next 12 months, which was 85.7 in October, fell by 0.6 percent this month to 85.2.
