Cost of living in Istanbul rises to 96,599 TL
Life in Istanbul is becoming more expensive with each passing month. In July, the cost of living for a family of four reached 96,599 TL, marking an annual increase of 45.15 percent.
Living expenses in Istanbul are rising without slowing down. The basic needs expenditures for families of four are reaching new levels every month. Experts warn, "This increase is expected to continue in the coming months."
The Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA) has shared the results of its Istanbul Cost of Living Research for July 2025 with the public. According to the data, the cost of living in the megacity has increased by 45.15 percent compared to the same month last year.
In July, the average cost of living for a family of four was calculated at 96,599 TL. On a monthly basis, there was a 3.35 percent increase compared to the previous month. This increase brought an additional burden of 3,134 TL to family budgets.
