Critical statement from AKP regarding 'pension payments': Concerns millions of citizens

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) convened to discuss the Climate Law Proposal.

CHP Group Deputy Chair Gökhan Günaydın took the floor regarding the minimum wage, saying, "We are bringing forward a legislative proposal; we have announced it. Let us immediately introduce a revised price for the minimum wage. Let minimum wage earners receive 30,250 TL in the second half of the year. Come on, sign this proposal and do not waste time here in vain.

I am bringing forward another proposal. There are 4 million people in this country, including civil servants and retired civil servants, trying to get by on 14,464 TL. Come, let us also provide them with their flat-rate raises. We have submitted the legislative proposal," he said.

AKP Group Deputy Chair Leyla Şahin Usta, stating that they are monitoring the situation of retirees, said, "Yes, we are aware that nearly 4 million of our retirees are receiving the lowest pension, and we are working on this issue.

Hopefully, the work on this subject will be shared with the public as soon as possible, and just as we have never left them aggrieved, we will continue to protect and support our retirees and those in need during this period as well," she said.
