Date set: Price hikes coming for bridges, highways, and high-speed trains

Economic management has decided to keep prices for bridge, highway, and High-Speed Train (YHT) crossings fixed until the end of June. Within the scope of the Treasury and Finance Ministry's inflation targets, current crossing and ticket tariffs are expected to be maintained for the time being.

According to information obtained from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, eyes are turned to July for a possible increase in transportation fees. In the second half of the year, updating toll and ticket prices will be on the agenda, with economic indicators and inflation data being evaluated.

Following the 25.49 percent hike implemented at the beginning of the year, ticket prices on the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line remain fixed at 930 TL. Unlike the gradual tariff adjustments seen in natural gas, no changes in transportation prices are being considered during this period.

The rate of the increase to be applied to fees will become clear following economic evaluation meetings to be held in July. It is stated that no new hikes are expected in the bridge, highway, and YHT fees used by citizens until the end of June.
