Diesel price hike: Here are the current pump prices
The 1 lira 82 kuruş increase in the price per liter of diesel has been reflected in pump prices in major cities, particularly in Istanbul. Fuel prices continue to be affected by fluctuations in exchange rates and oil prices.
The rise in Brent crude oil prices and changes in exchange rates continue to drive up the prices of fuel products. Most recently, a new price hike for diesel took effect as of Thursday, May 21.
Following this hike, the price per liter of diesel increased by 1 lira 82 kuruş across the country. This increase is of particular concern to vehicle owners in major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
CURRENT FUEL PRICES
With the hike, the updated prices in some regions are as follows:
On the European side of Istanbul, the price of a liter of diesel has risen to 69.30 TL. In the same region, a liter of gasoline is sold for 65.02 TL, and LPG for 33.89 TL. On the Anatolian side, the price of diesel is set at 69.15 TL, gasoline at 64.86 TL, and LPG at 33.29 TL.
In the capital, Ankara, the price per liter of diesel has reached 70.41 TL. Meanwhile, gasoline is being sold for 65.99 TL and LPG for 33.87 TL.
In Izmir, the price of diesel has reached the 70.68 TL level. Gasoline is offered for sale at fuel stations at 66.27 TL, and LPG at 33.69 TL.
While vehicle owners are forced to reconsider their expenses in light of the new prices, industry representatives emphasize that changes in global markets are the determining factor for prices.
Citizens have begun to plan their fuel purchases carefully following the hikes in fuel prices. It is assessed that developments in foreign exchange and crude oil markets may continue to impact prices in the coming days.
