Different trends observed in industrial production in April
Data from the Turkish Statistical Institute revealed different trends in industrial production on an annual and monthly basis. Changes in sub-sectors are noteworthy.
According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), industrial production increased by 3.3 percent in April 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. When examining the sub-sectors of industry, the mining and quarrying sector index increased by 1.3 percent on an annual basis, while the manufacturing sector index rose by 3.0 percent. The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector recorded an increase of 8.8 percent.

When evaluated on a monthly basis, the mining and quarrying sector index decreased by 2.5 percent compared to the previous month. While the manufacturing sector index showed a decline of 3.4 percent, the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution sector index showed an increase of 0.2 percent. These data reveal that there are different trends among sub-sectors in industrial production.
