Dollar hits all-time high

Activity in the foreign exchange markets continues. The dollar exchange rate, which was at the 43.83 TL level at the end of February, has continued its rise to reach the 47 TL level.

DOLLAR CONTINUES ITS RISE

The uncertainty in global markets due to the tension between the US and Iran has increased upward pressure on exchange rates. During this process, while the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey continues its interventions in the market through foreign exchange reserves, volatility in the markets has also increased following the absolute nullity decision regarding the CHP domestically.

Under the influence of these developments, the dollar exchange rate has gained 9.43 percent in value since the beginning of the year, and 7.23 percent since the date the US-Iran war began.

EURO MAINTAINS ITS STRONG TREND

Due to the strengthening of the dollar in global markets, the Euro continues to maintain its strong appearance against the Turkish Lira, despite losing value on a parity basis. The Euro/TL is trading at the 53.66 TL level in the first trading days of the week.

POUND FALLS BELOW 63 TL

The British pound, which saw its historical peak in recent days, has seen a limited decline in the new week. In the free market, the pound exchange rate has pulled back to the 62.98 TL level, falling below the 63 TL threshold.
