Spain to be the next stop for economic management

Spain to be the next stop for economic management

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek will continue his investor meetings abroad with Spain, the current holder of the European Union (EU) Presidency.

Şimşek will be accompanied by Hafize Gaye Erkan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, during his contacts in the capital, Madrid.

Şimşek and Erkan will attend investor meetings and a conference to be held on December 14-15. There, Şimşek will meet with senior executives from over 80 Spain-based global companies with a combined turnover exceeding 600 billion euros.

In the meetings, which Erkan will also attend, Şimşek will meet with managers of over 30 banks and funds that manage 2 trillion dollars.

During Minister Şimşek's visit, issues regarding cooperation between Turkish and Spanish companies in third countries will also be discussed.

As part of his visit, Şimşek will meet with Nadia Calvino Santamaria, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Economy, Trade and Enterprise of Spain, and will also hold a meeting with Pablo Hernandez de Cos, Governor of the Bank of Spain and Chair of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.

Since taking office, Şimşek has met with investors in the US, the UK, and France, and has embarked on a Gulf tour covering the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
