Eggs imported by Russia from Turkey have arrived in the country
It has been reported that the first batch of eggs imported from Turkey has arrived in Russia.
In a statement made by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), it was stated that the eggs imported from Turkey entered Russia through the "Yarag-Kazmalyar" checkpoint in the south of the country.
The statement included information that the distribution of 316,800 eggs, weighing a total of 19.3 tons, will begin within Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the rise in egg prices in the country on December 14, stating, "Additional imports from Turkey are being proposed. Our economic ties (with Turkey), including in the agricultural sector, are developing well."
Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev had also stated that they would soon be importing tax-free eggs from Turkey.
