Statement on gasoline from EMRA President: 'There will be a price reduction'
Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) President Mustafa Yılmaz has requested that discounts provided by certain countries on crude oil be reflected to the consumer. In this context, a reduction of 1 to 1.5 TL is expected for gasoline.
Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) President Mustafa Yılmaz has sent a letter to refineries requesting that the discounts provided by certain countries on crude oil be reflected to the consumer.
In his statement, Yılmaz used the following expressions:
"Gasoline and diesel prices are formed in the free market. The rules and the formula are clear. As EMRA, we are closely monitoring both the practices of market players such as refineries, distributors, and dealers, as well as price movements. In particular, crude oil and processed products imported from certain countries have created a significant profit advantage for refineries. This needs to be reflected to consumers as well. We expect refineries to take the necessary steps quickly and update their margin rates in line with the letter we have sent. As a result of the update to be made, there will be a reduction of 1 to 1.5 TL in gasoline and diesel prices."
