End-of-day in the markets: Latest status on the stock exchange, gold, euro, and dollar (April 5, 2024)

The BIST 100 index on Borsa İstanbul started the day at 9,275.88 points, up 146.86 points and 1.61 percent. It then rose by 489.81 points to close at 9,618.83 points.

Compared to the previous close, the financial index gained 4.98 percent, the industrial index 4.98 percent, the services index 5.26 percent, and the technology index 5.48 percent.

MOST ACTIVELY TRADED STOCKS

The BIST 30 index closed at 10,475.36 points, up 545.27 points and 5.49 percent compared to the previous close.

Of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index, 99 gained value and 1 declined.

Türk Hava Yolları, Türkiye İş Bankası (C), Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, Tüpraş, and Ereğli Demir Çelik were the most actively traded stocks.

GOLD OUNCE PRICE

The ounce price of gold is trading at 2,326 dollars in international markets as of 18:40. In the Borsa İstanbul Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of a kilogram of standard gold decreased by 3.2 percent to 2 million 338 thousand liras.

In the Borsa İstanbul Debt Securities Market Outright Purchases and Sales Market, the simple yield of the bond maturing on February 18, 2026, with today's value date, was 39.61 percent, and the compound yield was 43.53 percent.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) announced today's effective exchange rate for the dollar as 31.8985 liras for buying and 32.0263 liras for selling. The CBRT had previously set the effective exchange rate at 31.8173 liras for buying and 31.9448 liras for selling.

In international markets, as of 18:40, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0840, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2630, and the dollar/yen parity is at 151.60.

The barrel price of London Brent crude oil is trading at 91 dollars, an increase of 0.4 percent.
