End of day in the markets (March 14, 2024)

The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul closed at 8,883.52 points, down 26.71 points. The BIST 100 index started the day at 8,941.46 points, up 31.23 points and 0.35 percent.

The BIST 100 index, which saw a low of 8,848.61 and a high of 8,972.52 points during the day, completed the day at 8,883.52 points, a decrease of 0.30 percent compared to the previous close.

Compared to the previous close, the financial index lost 0.51 percent and the industrial index lost 0.19 percent, while the technology index gained 0.11 percent and the services index gained 0.36 percent.

The BIST 30 index closed at 9,434.25 points, down 12.79 points and 0.14 percent compared to the previous close.

Of the shares included in the BIST 100 index, 51 gained value and 44 declined. Turkish Airlines, Ereğli Demir Çelik, Tüpraş, Astor Enerji, and Akbank were the most actively traded stocks.

PRICE OF GOLD PER OUNCE

The price of gold per ounce is trading at 2,158 dollars in international markets as of 18:30. In the Borsa Istanbul Gold Market, the price of standard gold per kilogram decreased by 0.1 percent to 2 million 408 thousand liras.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) announced today's effective exchange rate for the dollar as 32.0405 liras for buying and 32.1689 liras for selling. The TCMB had previously set the effective exchange rate at 32.0165 liras for buying and 32.1448 liras for selling.

In international markets, as of 18:30, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0890, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2740, and the dollar/yen parity is at 148.30.

The price of a barrel of London Brent crude oil is trading at 84.6 dollars, an increase of 1.2 percent.
