Erdoğan signs off: 'EU tax' decision for goods brought from the TRNC
According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, changes have been made to the tax rates applied to goods brought from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
A single, flat-rate tax will be collected on goods brought from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) or arriving via cargo, at the same rates applied to goods coming from European Union countries.
The decision, bearing the signature of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was published in the Official Gazette dated December 17 and has entered into force.
Accordingly, a single, flat-rate tax will be collected on goods arriving directly from the TRNC that meet the criteria specified in Article 6 of the Implementation Agreement on the Regulation of Commercial Relations between Turkey and the TRNC, at the rates applied to goods arriving directly from EU countries.
