Expected major hike in diesel prices withdrawn
The high price increase planned for diesel due to fluctuations in global markets has been canceled; only a limited increase will be applied to diesel prices tonight.
The high-rate price hike anticipated for diesel at the beginning of the week has been canceled due to recent developments in the international oil market. Fuel sector representatives stated that current conditions directly influence pricing decisions.
In recent days, oil prices had risen above 70 dollars due to tensions between the United States and Iran. However, with the situation in the Middle East calming down, oil prices have retreated once again. Consequently, plans for price hikes on both diesel and gasoline in the domestic market have been revised, and the possibility of a significant increase has been eliminated.
According to industry sources, the projected 2 lira 74 kuruş increase per liter of diesel has been shelved. Similarly, the price increase expected to be reflected in gasoline mid-week has also been postponed to a later date.
Instead, only a 20 kuruş increase per liter of diesel is expected to take effect starting from midnight tonight.
