First-day results of the 1 TL deposit scheme announced

Data regarding the first day of the Deposit Management System (DOA), which began implementation across 81 provinces on July 1 under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and by the Turkish Environment Agency (TÜÇA), has been shared.

Under the system, citizens can return glass, PET, and aluminum beverage containers bearing the DOA logo to deposit return machines and receive a 1 lira incentive payment for each container.

MINISTER KURUM SHARED THE FIRST-DAY FIGURES

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum stated in a post on his social media account, "You returned them, nature won. Our nation loved the DOA. With the Deposit Management System, we reached 649 thousand users on the first day; we collected 1.5 million containers with DOA machines. Every collected container will be recovered through recycling and will contribute to a cleaner future."

MORE THAN 1.5 MILLION CONTAINERS COLLECTED ON THE FIRST DAY

According to the Deposit Management System data, the number of users who downloaded the DOA digital application on July 1 was recorded as 649 thousand 244.

On the same day, a total of 1 million 547 thousand 850 beverage containers made of glass, PET, and aluminum with the DOA logo were collected through deposit return machines.
