Foreign investors' asset purchases in Turkey have increased
Last week, foreign investors purchased 586 million dollars worth of securities in Turkey.
According to the "Weekly Securities Statistics" published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, non-residents purchased a total of 586 million dollars in securities during the week of September 19. Of these purchases, 407.6 million dollars consisted of stocks, while 178 million dollars were in Government Domestic Debt Securities (GDDS).
Foreign investors' stock holdings rose from 30 billion 963.2 million dollars in the week of September 12 to 33 billion 736.8 million dollars in the week of September 19. During the same period, GDDS holdings increased from 15 billion 75 million dollars to 15 billion 160.6 million dollars. Private Sector Bond (PSB) holdings, however, declined from 665.5 million dollars to 664.7 million dollars.
These developments indicate an increasing interest from foreign investors in financial assets in Turkey.
