Foreign investors enter the Turkish market: Exceeds $1 billion
In recent weeks, the interest of foreign investors in Turkish bonds and stocks has accelerated. Investors purchased over $1 billion worth of Turkish assets in total last week.
The interest of foreign investors in Turkish markets continues unabated. While demand for government domestic debt securities (DİBS) has reached remarkable levels, there has also been a significant foreign inflow into the stock market.
Last week, foreign investors made net purchases of $920 million in government domestic debt securities. This amount marks a significant increase compared to the $766 million purchase in the previous week and is considered one of the strongest bond investments of the recent period.
Activity also continued on Borsa Istanbul. Foreign actors made net purchases of $196.9 million in stocks last week. In the previous week, stock purchases had reached $238 million; thus, foreign investors maintained their net buyer position for two consecutive weeks.
According to experts, the economic policies implemented by Turkey and expectations of financial stability continue to increase the interest of foreign capital. Whether this momentum in the bond and stock markets will continue in the coming period will be shaped by economic developments.
