Claim that the 2026 raise has been determined: A starvation wage for retirees!

The raise rates to be implemented in January 2026 will not satisfy retirees and employees. According to a report by Yeniçağ, an 11 percent raise is projected for 14.2 million retirees from the worker, tradesman, and farmer categories. With this increase, the lowest-earning worker retiree will receive only 1,857 lira in additional income.

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek and Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan will receive a raise of 67,637 lira, deputy ministers will receive 40,765 lira, and retired members of parliament will receive 66,622 lira. This is equivalent to approximately 40 times the lowest retiree raise.

EYE-WATERING INCREASES IN EXECUTIVE SALARIES

While the lowest-earning civil servant retiree will receive an increase of 4,870 lira and the lowest-earning civil servant will receive 9,175 lira, the increases in the salaries of executives are alarming to the public.

With the January raise, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's total official and retirement salary will increase by 70,532 lira, and his 6-month income will rise by 446,000 lira. The 6-month income of ministers will increase by 406,000 lira, and that of members of parliament by 400,000 lira.
