The world-renowned business magazine Forbes has renewed its "Turkey's Richest People" list, as it does every year. While the majority of the names from last year remain on the list, fluctuations in the wealth of some billionaires have fundamentally changed the rankings.

This change, particularly in the top 10, has revealed that the power balances in the Turkish business world are being reshaped. While some names have climbed to the top ranks due to growth in their investments, others have fallen back due to uncertainty in global markets.

TOTAL WEALTH EXCEEDED 17 TRILLION 476 BILLION LIRA

According to data from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the number of millionaires in Turkey has exceeded 2 million. The total wealth of millionaires has risen to 17 trillion 476 billion lira.

2 MILLION 367 THOUSAND 312 PEOPLE BECAME MILLIONAIRES

In the latest report shared by the BDDK, it was observed that the wealth of millionaires increased from 15.6 trillion lira last year to 17.476 trillion lira.

The number of domestic and foreign resident depositors with 1 million lira or more in their accounts was 1 million 591 thousand 683 people in July of last year, while it increased by 775 thousand 629 people to 2 million 367 thousand 312 in the same period this year.

In the same period, the total deposits held in accounts also reached 17 trillion 476 billion lira from 15 trillion 664 billion lira.
