Inflation adjustment announcement for millions of civil servants and retirees: How much will the July raise be?

The amount of the 3-month inflation adjustment is being questioned by millions of civil servants and retirees following the release of the March inflation data by TURKSTAT. Civil servants, who receive raises twice a year based on inflation adjustments and collective bargaining agreements, and retirees, whose raises will be determined according to the inflation adjustment, are calculating the raise rate they will receive in July 2025 now that the third inflation data point for 2025 has been announced.

HOW MUCH WAS THE 3-MONTH INFLATION ADJUSTMENT?

According to the data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), inflation in March was announced as 2.46 percent monthly. Accordingly, SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already qualified for a 10.06 percent inflation adjustment for March 2025. The inflation adjustment that civil servants will receive was announced as 3.83 percent. Since this raise will be reflected in the salaries in July 2025, it will be calculated cumulatively based on the monthly inflation rate announced each month.

HOW MUCH OF A RAISE WILL CIVIL SERVANTS AND CIVIL SERVANT RETIREES RECEIVE?

Civil servants and civil servant retirees receive an inflation adjustment in addition to the collective bargaining agreement raise. According to the collective bargaining agreement, civil servants and civil servant retirees will receive their second raise of 2025 in July. As of the end of March, this figure has exceeded 3.83 percent. The final figure will be determined after the 3 inflation data points for April, May, and June are announced.

The salary of an SSK and Bağ-Kur retiree earning 15,000 TL will increase to 16,509 TL.

The salary of an SSK and Bağ-Kur retiree earning 20,000 TL will increase to 22,180 TL.

The salary of an SSK and Bağ-Kur retiree earning 25,000 TL will increase to 27,522.5 TL.

The salary of an SSK and Bağ-Kur retiree earning 30,000 TL will increase to 33,018 TL.

LOWEST CIVIL SERVANT RETIREE SALARY

The lowest civil servant retiree salary will increase from 19,916 TL to 21,708.44 TL under these conditions.

LOWEST CIVIL SERVANT SALARY

The lowest civil servant salary will rise from 41,091 TL to 44,789.19 TL.

Inflation in January increased by 5.03 percent monthly to 42.12 percent annually.
