July pension hike becoming clear! How much will the lowest salary be?
With the announcement of April inflation data, the 4-month salary increase rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees to be applied in July 2025 has reached 13.36 percent. According to Central Bank expectations, this rate could exceed 18 percent over the 6-month period. The lowest pension is expected to exceed 17 thousand TL.
The April inflation figures announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) provided important data for the pension increase to be applied in July 2025.
While the inflation difference reached 13.36 percent in the first four months of the year, millions of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees have begun to wonder how much of a raise they will receive. While waiting for two more months of data for the final rate, some raise scenarios have already emerged.
Inflation data for the January-April period were recorded as follows:
5.03 percent in January, 2.27 percent in February, 2.46 percent in March, and 3.00 percent in April. According to this table, the total four-month inflation rose to 13.36 percent. The raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has also taken shape at this level for now.
For civil servants and retired civil servants, the four-month inflation difference was determined as 6.94 percent. When this difference is combined with the 5 percent collective bargaining raise, the total civil servant raise reaches 12.29 percent.
According to the Central Bank's Survey of Market Participants, inflation is expected to increase by 2.36 percent in May and 1.77 percent in June. If these expectations are met, the 6-month inflation rate will be 18.09 percent, which will determine the final level of salary raises.
HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?
Based on these projections, the lowest pension is expected to rise from the current level of 14 thousand 469 TL to 17 thousand 86 TL.
Here are the potential increased amounts in July 2025 based on some sample salaries:
Current Salary (TL) Estimated Increased Salary (TL)
15,000 17,714
16,000 18,894
20,000 23,618
25,000 29,523
30,000 35,427
In addition, widows and orphans will also be able to benefit from the increased salary in proportion to their shares. For example, a widow/orphan with a 75 percent share could receive approximately 12,814 TL, those with a 50 percent share 8,543 TL, and those with a 25 percent share 4,271 TL.
All eyes are now on the May and June inflation data for the pension raise that will be valid in July 2025. With the announcement of the results for these two months, the exact raise rates that SSK, Bağ-Kur, and civil servant retirees will receive will become clear. Retirees have already started calculating their salaries.
