The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) will announce the inflation data for June on Thursday, July 3. This data will determine the salary raises for millions of retirees and civil servants. The rates to be announced will directly affect the salaries that will be valid for the second half of the year.

According to the Central Bank's market participants survey, inflation is expected to be at the level of 1.61 percent in June. In line with this forecast, the 6-month inflation covering the January-June period will reach 16.94 percent. This rate will be directly reflected in the base pensions of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.

THE LOWEST RETIREMENT PENSION IS BEING DETERMINED

The lowest retirement pension, currently applied as 14,469 TL, will rise to 16,920 TL with the 16.94 percent raise. With the raise, sample salary increases will be as follows:

15,000 TL salary → 17,541 TL

20,000 TL salary → 23,388 TL

25,000 TL salary → 29,235 TL

30,000 TL salary → 35,082 TL

LEGAL REGULATION BEING PREPARED IN THE TBMM

A draft omnibus bill is being worked on in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the raise to be applied to the lowest retirement pension. The motion, which will be finalized according to the inflation rate to be announced by TUIK, will be discussed in the Planning and Budget Committee. With this regulation, the right of approximately 3 million 716 thousand retirees to receive their increased salaries in July will be guaranteed.

15.85 PERCENT RAISE EXPECTED FOR CIVIL SERVANTS

The raise calculation for civil servants and retired civil servants works differently. In addition to the 5 percent raise stemming from the collective bargaining agreement for the second half of 2025, the 6-month inflation difference will be reflected in salaries.

If June inflation proceeds in parallel with the forecasts, the inflation difference is calculated as 10.33 percent. Thus, a total increase of 15.85 percent is expected for the salaries of civil servants and retired civil servants.
