The minimum wage hike is a significant issue that directly affects the income of both employees and citizens. As January 2026 approaches, SGK expert İsa Karakaş has made strong predictions regarding the rate of the increase to be applied to the minimum wage. 

Karakaş stated that while the economic management had previously anticipated a 20 percent increase in line with inflation rates, they have recently raised this expectation, saying, "An increase of at least 25 percent is expected. The highest increase will be around 30 percent."

WHAT WILL THE NEW MINIMUM WAGE AMOUNT BE?

Taking the estimated increase rates into account, the SGK expert also made statements regarding the new amount for the 2026 minimum wage. Karakaş said, "With the new increase, we expect the net minimum wage to be at least 27,000 TL, and at most between 28,000 TL and 28,500 TL."

İsa Karakaş stated that the minimum wage could reach 29,000 TLbut that it would definitely not exceed this figure.
