Tax shock for pick-up trucks: SCT increased from 4% to 50%! Here are the new prices...

A new regulation regarding the Special Consumption Tax (SCT), which directly concerns the automotive sector, has been accepted in Parliament and enacted into law. The new law draws attention with a significant tax increase specifically targeting pick-up trucks.

With the law, SCT rates on automobiles will now range between 80% and 220%. However, the most striking change occurred in pick-up type vehicles, which had been sold with only a 4% SCT until now. The tax rate on these vehicles has been increased to 50%.

Following the publication of the law in the Official Gazette, prices for pick-up models are expected to increase significantly. This rise will affect both new vehicle sales and the second-hand market.
