Gold bullion provided the highest returns in October

When deflated by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the highest monthly real return in October was realized in gold bullion at 0.89 percent.

Gold bullion provided the highest returns in October

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the real return rates of financial investment instruments for October. Accordingly, the highest real return in October, when deflated by the CPI, was in gold bullion at 0.89 percent. When deflated by the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI), gold bullion also provided a 2.36 percent gain to its investors.

DOLLAR PROVIDED 1.23 PERCENT RETURN

When deflated by the D-PPI, among investment instruments, the dollar provided a real return of 1.23 percent, the euro 0.08 percent, and deposit interest (gross) 0.06 percent to investors, while the BIST 100 index caused a loss of 2.87 percent and Government Domestic Debt Securities (GDDS) caused a loss of 6.88 percent. When deflated by the CPI, the dollar caused a loss of 0.23 percent, the euro 1.36 percent, deposit interest (gross) 1.38 percent, the BIST 100 index 4.27 percent, and GDDS 8.22 percent for investors.

STOCK MARKET PROVIDED THE HIGHEST RETURNS OVER 3 AND 6 MONTHS

In the three-month evaluation, the BIST 100 index was the investment instrument that provided the highest real return, with 10.76 percent when deflated by the D-PPI and 4.59 percent when deflated by the CPI, while during the same period, GDDS was the investment instrument that caused the most loss, with 26.14 percent when deflated by the D-PPI and 30.26 percent when deflated by the CPI.

According to the six-month evaluation, the BIST 100 index was the investment instrument that generated the highest real return, with 24.7 percent when deflated by the D-PPI and 20.02 percent when deflated by the CPI. During the same period, GDDS was recorded as the investment instrument that caused the most loss, with 38.35 percent when deflated by the D-PPI and 40.66 percent when deflated by the CPI.

When financial investment instruments were evaluated annually, the BIST 100 index was the investment instrument that provided the highest real return, with 54.15 percent when deflated by the D-PPI and 33.16 percent when deflated by the CPI.

GOLD AT THE TOP IN ANNUAL RETURNS

In the annual evaluation, when deflated by the D-PPI, among investment instruments, gold bullion provided a real return of 26.09 percent, the euro 15.62 percent, and the dollar 7.55 percent, while deposit interest (gross) caused a loss of 17.48 percent and GDDS caused a loss of 43.67 percent. When deflated by the CPI, gold bullion provided a real return of 8.92 percent, while the euro caused a loss of 0.12 percent, the dollar 7.09 percent, deposit interest (gross) 28.72 percent, and GDDS 51.34 percent.
