Gold continues to decline: Which investment vehicle performed best this week?

This week, stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 0.27 percent on a weekly basis. The BIST 100 index closed the week at 10,971.52 points, showing an increase of 0.27 percent compared to the previous week. During the week, the index saw a low of 10,816.89 points and a high of 10,994.41 points.

A decline was observed in the gold market. In the Grand Bazaar, the gram price of 24-karat gold bullion decreased by 1.96 percent to 5,431.4 liras. The price of Republic gold fell by 1.95 percent to 36,640 liras, while quarter gold dropped by 1.96 percent to 9,098 liras.

A different picture emerged in foreign exchange rates. The US dollar rose by 0.19 percent to 42.0490 liras, while the euro fell by 0.59 percent to 48.5610 liras.

Investment funds gained 1.18 percent this week, while pension funds increased by 1.04 percent. Among investment funds, the highest gainers were "stock" funds with 2.7 percent.
