Gram gold surpasses 6,200 in the Grand Bazaar
Expectations that the Fed will cut interest rates in 2026 and global geopolitical risks are pushing gold to new records, while silver has also reached an all-time high.
Gold prices have hit a historic peak due to geopolitical developments involving Venezuela and Ukraine, as well as expectations that the Fed may cut interest rates in 2026.
Spot gold, which recorded a rise exceeding 1.2 percent in the morning hours, approached the 4,200 dollar threshold, reaching a level of 4,197 dollars.
Gram gold started the day at 6,192 liras, setting a new record. In the Grand Bazaar, gram gold was traded at 6,226 TL, while quarter gold was traded at 10,141 TL.
Spot silver also continued its rise, reaching 70 dollars per ounce and hitting its historic peak.
While the value increase in gold since the beginning of the year has been 71 percent, the rise in silver has reached 141 percent.
