Heavy toll on the stock market! Hundreds of thousands of investors fled
The final week of the year at Borsa Istanbul saw sharp declines. On Monday, December 25 alone, there was a loss of 435.5 thousand investors, while the total decline for the week reached 833 thousand investors.
The Central Securities Depository (MKK) reported that the number of equity investors fell by over 800 thousand in a single week.
According to a report in Ekonomim; based on the investor and account figures released by the MKK, the number of equity investors decreased by 833 thousand 119 people in the week ending December 29 compared to the previous week.
Thus, the number of equity investors dropped from 8 million 486 thousand 149 to 7 million 653 thousand 30.
In the same week, the value of equity stocks fell from 10.13 trillion TL to 10.03 trillion TL.
