Housing sales statistics released: That country is at the top again
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has released the housing sales statistics for January. Accordingly, while 80,308 houses were sold in January, the foreign nationals who purchased the most housing were also identified.

ISTANBUL IS AT THE TOP AGAIN
Accordingly, housing sales across Turkey decreased by 17.8% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 80,308.
In housing sales, Istanbul held the highest share with 13,423 house sales and 16.7%.
Following Istanbul in terms of sales numbers were Ankara with 6,709 house sales and an 8.4% share, and Antalya with 5,250 house sales and a 6.5% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 17 houses, Hakkari with 38 houses, and Bayburt with 40 houses, respectively.
MOST SALES WERE MADE TO RUSSIANS
Housing sales to foreigners decreased by 50.5% in January compared to the same month of the previous year, totaling 2,061.
In January, the share of housing sales to foreigners within total housing sales was 2.6%.
In housing sales to foreigners, Antalya took the first place with 747 house sales. Antalya was followed by Istanbul with 710 house sales and Mersin with 211 house sales, respectively.
In January, citizens of the Russian Federation purchased 555 houses from Turkey. Citizens of the Russian Federation were followed by citizens of Iran with 208 houses, Ukraine with 127 houses, and Iraq and Kazakhstan with 99 houses each.
