How are the markets performing at midday? (22.03.2024)

The Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 Index increased by 43.56 points as of 13:00 compared to the previous close. The BIST 100 index, which closed at 9,140.70 points yesterday, started the day at 9,162.41 points with an increase of 21.71 points and 0.24 percent.

During the first half of the day, the index saw a low of 9,152.41 points and a high of 9,223.20 points.

In the first half of the day, the financial index gained 0.53 percent, the services index 0.63 percent, and the industrial index 0.30 percent, while the technology index lost 0.17 percent in value.

Compared to the previous close, 64 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index rose, while 31 lost value in the first half of the day. The most actively traded stocks were Türk Hava Yolları, Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, Vestel Elektronik, Türkiye İş Bankası (C), and ASELSAN.

As of 13:00, the simple yield of the benchmark bond maturing on February 18, 2026, traded in the Borsa Istanbul Debt Securities Market Outright Purchases and Sales Market, was at 41.65 percent, and the compound yield was at 45.99 percent.

In international markets, as of 13:00, the euro/dollar parity was at 1.0820, the sterling/dollar parity at 1.2590, and the dollar/yen parity at 151.60.

In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is being sold at 32.0260 liras and the euro at 34.6430 liras.

The ounce price of gold is trading at 2,167 dollars in international markets with a 0.7 percent decrease, while the barrel price of Brent crude oil in London is trading at 85.2 dollars with a 0.2 percent increase.
