How did the markets close? (April 22, 2024)

The BIST 100 index started the day at 9,794.74 points, up 101.28 points and 1.04 percent.

The BIST 100 index, which saw a low of 9,645.02 and a high of 9,831.50 points during the day, finished the day at 9,645.02 points, down 0.50 percent from the previous close.

Compared to the previous close, the financial index lost 1.31 percent in value, while the industrial index gained 0.42 percent, the technology index 1.86 percent, and the services index 0.46 percent.

The BIST 30 index closed at 10,429.92 points, down 97.87 points and 0.93 percent from the previous close.

Of the shares included in the BIST 100 index, 59 gained value and 40 declined. Turkish Airlines, Akbank, Türkiye İş Bankası (C), Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, and Tüpraş were the most actively traded stocks.

GOLD OUNCE PRICE

The ounce price of gold is trading at 2,336 dollars in international markets as of 18:20. In the Borsa Istanbul Gold Market, the price of a kilogram of standard gold fell by approximately 1 percent to 2 million 595 thousand liras.

The simple yield of the bond maturing on February 18, 2026, traded in the Borsa Istanbul Debt Securities Market Outright Purchases and Sales Market, was 41.12 percent, and the compound yield was 45.35 percent for today's value-dated transactions.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) announced today's effective exchange rate for the dollar as 32.4773 liras for buying and 32.6074 liras for selling. The CBRT had previously set the effective exchange rate at 32.4868 liras for buying and 32.6170 liras for selling.

In international markets, as of 18:20, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0640, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2330, and the dollar/yen parity is at 154.80.

The price of a barrel of Brent crude oil in London is trading at 85.8 dollars, down 0.9 percent.
