How did the markets close the day? (May 27, 2024)

The BIST 100 index started the day at 10,701.24 points, up by 24.58 points and 0.23 percent.

The BIST 100 index, which saw a low of 10,584.59 points and a high of 10,758.92 points during the day, finished the day at 10,656.96 points, a decrease of 0.18 percent compared to the previous close.

Compared to the previous close, the financial index lost 0.04 percent, the industrial index 0.98 percent, the services index 0.51 percent, and the technology index 1.04 percent.

The BIST 30 index closed at 11,671.65 points, with a gain of 3.11 points and 0.03 percent compared to the previous close.

Of the shares included in the BIST 100 index, 34 gained value and 63 declined. Türk Hava Yolları, Ereğli Demir Çelik, Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, Türkiye İş Bankası (C), and Akbank were the most traded stocks.

GOLD OUNCE PRICE

The ounce price of gold was trading at 2,355 dollars in international markets as of 18:30. In the Borsa Istanbul Gold Market, the price of standard gold per kilogram rose by 1.7 percent to 2 million 445 thousand liras.

The simple yield of the February 18, 2026, maturity bond traded in the Borsa Istanbul Debt Securities Market Outright Purchases and Sales Market was 38.13 percent, and the compound yield was 41.76 percent for today's value-dated transactions.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) announced the effective exchange rate for the dollar today as 32.1086 liras for buying and 32.2373 liras for selling. The TCMB had previously set the effective exchange rate at 32.1227 liras for buying and 32.2514 liras for selling.

In international markets, as of 18:30, the euro/dollar parity was at 1.0860, the sterling/dollar parity at 1.2780, and the dollar/yen parity at 156.80.

The price of a barrel of Brent crude oil in London was trading at 82.7 dollars, an increase of 1 percent.
