How did the stock market start the day?

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index is trading at 7,982.71 points, up 0.41 percent. At the opening, the banking index rose by 0.50 percent and the holding index by 0.43 percent. While the insurance sector index was the top gainer with 0.70 percent, the securities investment trust sector was the biggest loser with 0.54 percent.

The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul, which followed a volatile course yesterday, had completed the day with a 0.75 percent loss at 7,950.06 points.

Analysts stated that while scenarios suggesting the US economy could achieve a "soft landing" might increase risk appetite in global markets, they expect macroeconomic data, which will intensify starting today, to be influential on the direction of asset prices.

Today, the financial services confidence index will be monitored domestically, while manufacturing and service sector Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data will be followed globally. From a technical perspective, it is noted that the 8,000 and 8,060 levels are resistance points for the BIST 100 index, while 7,900 and 7,800 points are support levels.
