How will inflation affect salaries? 4-month raise for retirees and civil servants becomes clear

The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the inflation data for April. According to the released data, inflation in April was 4.18 percent on a monthly basis and 32.37 percent on an annual basis.

The inflation rates recorded in the first three months of the year were 4.84 percent in January, 2.96 percent in February, and 1.94 percent in March. With this data, a 10.04 percent increase had already been finalized for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees for the first three months. With the addition of the April data, this rate has risen further.

When the four-month inflation data is taken into account, the raise rate that SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already earned for the July period has risen to 14.64 percent. The final increase rate will become clear after the data for May and June are announced.

CIVIL SERVANT RAISE REACHED 10.51 PERCENT

Civil servants and civil servant retirees receive an inflation adjustment in addition to their collective bargaining agreement raise. According to the latest data released, the inflation difference for civil servants was 3.28 percent. When the 7 percent increase determined within the scope of the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement is added to this, the total raise rate reaches 10.51 percent.

The data that will determine the final picture for the salary increases to be made in July will be the inflation figures for May and June.
