İmamoğlu's statement on Minister Şimşek: 'Don't let a novice candidate crush your reputation'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP candidate for the new term, Ekrem İmamoğlu, made remarks about Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek during a program he attended.

İmamoğlu used the following expressions for Şimşek on İsmail Küçükkaya's program on Halk TV:

"I respect Mehmet Şimşek. I was able to get appointments from two people, one was the Minister of Transport, and the other was Mr. Şimşek. He gave an appointment and received us. Don't do it, Mr. Şimşek, don't let a novice candidate crush your reputation. You are a reputable person, you are a good economist. We expect good services from you for this country as well. Mr. Şimşek, you are valuable. A rational attitude requires this, and the situation of the Şimşek I know also requires this. This won't win votes, that will lose votes. God forbid if I were Kurum, I wouldn't say 'say this for me.' This is a weakness"

Şimşek had stated in a program he attended recently that they had come together to support the campaign of the People's Alliance's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate, Murat Kurum.

The speech Şimşek made for Kurum on the program was as follows:

"If the metropolitan municipality works well, believe me, our companies will be more efficient. Because you will spend less time from home to work, from work to home.
