İmamoğlu: We have brought the 'Tourism Platform' initiative to Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke at the opening of the "Routes World 2023" event, which brought together aviation stakeholders from all over the world at the Istanbul Expo Center, according to the statement.

Stating that Istanbul, one of the world's leading tourism centers, has not yet reached its true potential in tourism, İmamoğlu noted that the target is for the number of visitors, which exceeded 17 million this year, to surpass 20 million next year.

Expressing that they have carried out significant work in terms of transportation, accommodation, and the protection of cultural and historical heritage during their 4.5-year term, İmamoğlu said the following:

"I can say that we have taken very strategic steps to improve Istanbul's infrastructure, grow the sector, and increase our city's potential. We have brought the 'Tourism Platform' initiative to our Istanbul. This platform, which brings together all components of the tourism sector in our city and the scientific community, has made our cooperation more effective by continuing planning and efforts with our management team."

İmamoğlu said he believes that Routes World 2023 will build new and stronger ties between countries and humanity and will provide benefits.
