Inflation data released

Millions of civil servants and retirees have turned their eyes to the salary increase rate to be applied in July. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the inflation data for June.

Thus, the six-month inflation difference for civil servants, retirees, workers, and Bağ-Kur retirees has become clear.

Workers and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive the entire six-month inflation rate as a difference.

HOW WILL THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING DIFFERENCE BE REFLECTED?

As per the collective bargaining agreement, civil servants and retirees will receive an increase based on the portion of inflation exceeding 15 percent, in addition to a 10 percent increase.

Inflation, which was 6.70 percent in January, was announced as 4.53 percent in February and 3.16 percent in March.

While this figure was 3.18 percent in April, it was 3.37 percent in May.

TÜİK announced June inflation as 1.64 percent. The six-month inflation difference was calculated as 24.73 percent.

Thus, civil servants and civil servant retirees will receive a 19.73 percent raise. The entire six-month difference of 24.73 percent will be reflected in the pensions of workers and Bağ-Kur retirees.

ACCORDING TO ENAG, THE FIGURE IS 4.27 PERCENT

Following TÜİK, ENAG also announced its inflation data for June.

The ENAG Consumer Price Index (E-CPI) increased by 4.27% in June. The 12-month increase in the E-CPI was 113.08%. The inflation rate for the first 6 months of 2024 was 41.16%.

THE PRODUCT GROUP WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE INCREASE IS CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR

In the main expenditure group of clothing and footwear, June inflation was 9.30 percent.

It was followed by Housing at 7.69 percent.
